Notice

This proposed language change will be voted on at the regular scheduled November meeting.

Remove the following from Article 1 of the By-Laws:

Section 11: Political Action Committee (PAC) Fund

A Political Action Committee referred to as a PAC shall be funded from the dues of members in good standing. This payment will be funded from an increase in dues of ten ($10.00) dollars a month per member. Enrollment in paying into the PAC fund shall be completely voluntary with no reprisal of any type against members electing not to participate in funding the PAC. Members will have to voluntarily fill out a permission card allowing Local 2551 to appropriate the ten ($10.00) dollars from their dues payment into the PAC fund. All members who decline to participate in the PAC fund allotment shall have their ten ($10.00) dollar dues increase remains in the general fund.

Amend the following language from the current By-Laws:

Section 2:  Membership Dues

The Union dues for all active members will be two percent (2%) of the monthly top Fire Fighter salary (301). This amount will be rounded to the nearest twenty-five cents ($.25).  Dues shall be paid through payroll deduction if possible. (The City will not payroll deduct members dues until completion of the first year of employment with the Fire Department.)

To the proposed language

This amount will be rounded to the nearest twenty-five cents ($.25).  Dues shall be paid through payroll deduction if possible. (The City will not payroll deduct members dues until completion of the first year of employment with the Fire Department.)
